Congratulations Rose Fraze!
We would like to congratulate Ms. Rose Fraze who has been appointed as our Assistant Principal. She has been a part of our Gar-Field community for the past ten years serving with distinction as an English teacher. We are very fortunate to add an Assistant Principal from within our ranks. Welcome Ms. Fraze!

Gar-Field HS Ranks in the top 6% in the Nation!
Gar-Field High School is in the top 6 percent of schools nationwide, according to Newsweek's annual Challenge Index listing published online. The Challenge Index ranks schools on their efforts to encourage students to take International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, and Advanced Placement tests. The rating is achieved by dividing the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or other college level tests by the number of seniors who graduated.

Delay in New Graduation Requirements
Attention parents/guardians of rising ninth grade students:
The Virginia Department of Education has announced that the new graduation requirements will be delayed one year. Instead of becoming effective in September of 2010, the new graduation requirements will become effective in September of 2011.

Edulink InTouch Online Accounts
No Edulink account updates after June 21st:
June 21st will be the last day that password updates will be made. Password and account updates will resume August 17th.
Edulink InTouch Online Inaccessible for the Summer:
The Edulink InTouch Online program will not be accessible from June 30 through August 16. Summer maintenance and preparation for next school year will be performed during that time. Parents will be able to login and edit Emergency Card information starting on August 17th. Have a good summer!
