Bus Routes
2014-15 Bus Line-up

Activity Bus: Gar-Field High School runs a number of buses for students staying after school for activities. All buses run Monday through Thursday. Please see the links below for times and route information:

The 4:40 p.m. activity bus
The 5:20 p.m. activity bus
The IB bus

eLearning Tablets
Attention families of 9th and 10th grade students - Gar-Field High School will begin the release of our school's tablets in early February. Before students are allowed to take the tablets home, parents or guardians must attend an informational meeting, sign the loan approval form, and pay their user fee. Please plan to attend ONE of our four available sessions. The dates are:
  • January 10th at 10:00 a.m.
  • January 13th at 10:00 a.m.

    DUE TO WEATHER RELATED CLOSING, THESE
    TWO SESSIONS WILL BE RESCHEDULED
  • January 14th at 4:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m.
For more information, see the Prince William County Schools' eLearning website. Again, attendance is mandatory before the tablets can go home with the 9th and 10th graders.

Visitor Parking & Late Students
Visitor Parking is located on the baseball side of the school. There are special spots indicated for school visitors. All visitors, as well as late students, must enter through door #1 by the front office.

FEB. 1st IS FAST APPROACHING AND YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS
Our Jan. 6th information night was canceled due to weather, and it looks like we will not be able to reschedule before the Feb. 1st deadline.  If you have questions or would like to meet to discuss how an International Baccalaureate education can help prepare your student for higher learning, DO NOT HESITATE to contact us. 
The IB Program at Gar-Field HS is looking for highly motivated students who want what colleges and universities say is, "the strongest high school preparation possible."

Yearbooks
 Don't miss out on all your school memories! Use the following link to order yours today.

The Gar-Field High School yearbook staff would like to remind all families that students who wish to pre-order their yearbook with a name stamp must do so by Monday, January 26.  Students can reserve their copy of the yearbook with a $20 down payment or families can order online by using the link found on Gar-Field's website.  Families who have any questions can reach out to Celeste Jacques. [Yearbook orders]

 


 
Gar-Field Specialty Programs
Are you interested in applying for one of Gar-Field High School's specialty programs: International Baccalaureate Programme or Project Lead the Way? If so, click here to access the online program application. [You may encounter a security warning prior to accessing the application. The website is safe; please push through the security warning.] The deadline for all Prince William County specialty program applications is February 1, 2015. If your base school is Gar-Field High School, and you are interested in one of these specialty programs, you will also need to complete the online application. If you are currently enrolled in an IB Middle Years Programme, you will also need to complete the online application as you transition to high school.

Mandatory Concussion Training for Sports Tryout
Dates for 2014-2015 Mandatory Face-To-Face Concussion Training for all student athletes and parents of student athletes who wish to try out for any sport are listed below. Please note that all sessions will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. All participants should enter Door 17 by the Receiving Area. No late entry will be permitted after 7:00 p.m.

Alumni Walkway

The Alumni Walkway in Ralph Burnett Stadium has been installed and awaits your brick!  The walkway will be inscribed with the names of Gar-Field students, Alumni, Teachers, Faculty, Clubs and Groups.

By reserving a brick, you can show generations to come what Gar-Field means to you.  In addition, you are helping the student athletes at Gar-Field.  All Alumni Walkway proceeds will help support the Gar-Field Athletic Program.

Student Parking Permits
All students who drive to Gar-Field High School must have a valid parking permit on the vehicle.  The cost of the parking permit is $100.00.  To obtain a parking permit, fill out the Student Parking Permit Application and bring the completed form to the Security Office. The deadline is September 30.

Check Cashing Policy
We welcome your checks at Gar-Field High School.  However, if your check is returned for any reason, we will electronically present it to your bank for the face value plus a $35.00 processing fee.  Any protest or bad check return fee charged by your financial institution, and all other charges, interest, and attorney's fees are your responsibility. This action will be taken without further notice.  We reserve the right to decline your check.
